During the MIECF 2010 (Macau International Environmental Cooperation Exhibition and Forum) on 8-10 April 2010, Avis Macau launched its first electric car- iMiEV by Mitsubishi. The first green car of the entire AVIS Asia fleet was introduced to the media on April 9th and on April 10th to the public for test ride.

Both the media and the public were surprised with its quietness, easy to handle, yet as powerful as a normal 1500cc car, reaching a maximum speed of up to 130 km/h. A fully charged electric car is able to drive for 130-160kms and it consumes only 16 units of electricity which costs about MOP$20. Most importantly , it is a Zero - emission vehicle, so it is really an economical and environmental friendly choice.
